What is Krea AI?

Krea AI is an AI image platform built for creative professionals. In Artlist, you can generate visuals with Krea 2 using text prompts, guiding the style with reference images.

KREA AI

What Krea 2 can do for creators

Krea 2 gives you control at every stage of the generation, from the style you’re referencing to how loosely the model interprets your prompt.

  • Show it what you’re going for

Add up to 10 reference images, and Krea 2 picks up the visual style (color, texture, mood) and applies it to your output. Your references guide the look, not what ends up in the frame.

  • Control how literally Krea follows your prompt

Get exactly what you wrote, or let Krea fill in the compositional and stylistic gaps, or land somewhere in between.

  • Works across the styles you actually use

Photoreal, illustration, manga, watercolor, VHS - Krea 2 handles each on its own terms. The style you’re going for comes through as itself.

  • Use the version that fits the job

Pick one of two quality settings. One is faster and more consistent, best for illustration and expressive styles. The other produces rawer output, better for photorealism and motion blur.

  3. Upload up to 10 reference images to guide the visual style. Then set your Creativity level: Raw follows your prompt closely, High gives the model more room to fill compositional and stylistic gaps.

  4. Write your prompt, adjust the aspect ratio if needed, and click generate. Review the output, iterate from there, and download the finished image directly from the Toolkit.

Who should use Krea 2?

Krea 2 is built for creative work where visual style is the brief, and naturally fits into specific workflows.

  • abstract flowers

    Creative studios and art directors

Add your moodboard as style references and run batches in Turbo to surface visual directions quickly. Krea 2 reads the color, texture, and lighting, so the output stays within your aesthetic system.

  • serious man at dinner

    Marketing and advertising teams

Create campaign assets across formats without rebuilding from scratch each time: product visuals, social creatives, and commercial imagery. Test directions before committing to a final concept.

  • woman in red jacket

    E-commerce teams

Generate consistent product imagery across large SKU sets and multiple contexts. Set your style references and outputs stay on-brand across the full batch, without manual correction between takes.

Get to your best image faster with Krea 2

Krea 2 runs on two speed modes, Turbo and Standard, giving you a fast iteration loop and a high-fidelity output path within the same model.

  • From prompt to image in two seconds

Describe a scene or bring references. Either way, Krea 2 Turbo generates in roughly two seconds. Test directions and explore layout options without waiting on render times before committing to a quality tier.

  • Test various style references

Turbo runs the full reference workflow. Upload up to 10 style images and see how your visual direction translates into output before committing to a generation in Standard mode.

  • Start with the most reliable setting

Medium is the default quality tier for most workflows. It’s optimized for digital illustration, vector-style work, anime, and expressive painting. Stable, consistent, and a reliable starting point if you’re not sure which setting fits the brief.

  • Go bigger with higher quality

The Large quality setting produces rawer, more textured outputs. It’s better suited for photorealistic portraits, organic materials, motion blur, film grain, and low-dynamic-range visual treatments. Use it when the brief calls for something that doesn’t look generated.

Frequently asked questions

Krea AI is an AI image generator platform built for creative professionals. Krea 2 is its first in-house image model, trained to handle a wide range of visual styles (photoreal, illustration, manga, watercolor, and VHS), without defaulting to a generic AI look. This text to image model lets you work from prompts, add reference images to guide the style, and set how literally the model follows your direction. It’s available on Artlist AI Toolkit. Visit our Krea 2 Help Center article for more information.

Krea 2 has two quality settings. Medium is faster, with stable, consistent outputs. It’s particularly strong on illustration, anime, painting, and expressive styles, and the right starting point for most use cases.

Large is a bigger setting with rawer, more textured outputs. It’s built for photorealism and visual treatments like motion blur, grain, and low dynamic range.

Both settings support the same inputs and features. The difference is in the character and quality of what they produce.

Krea 2 Turbo is an accelerated generation mode that produces images in roughly two seconds. It’s built for rapid iteration: testing directions, swapping references, and exploring layout options without waiting on render times.

Turbo supports the full text-to-image workflow, including style references: upload up to 10 reference images and run generations at Turbo speed to quickly test how your visual direction translates into output. Once the direction is locked, switch to Standard mode for a more refined result.

You can use up to 10 reference images in a single generation. Krea 2 reads the visual style of each (lighting, color, feel), and applies it to your output. So if your prompt is “a girl riding a bike through a wheat field” and you add a Picasso painting as a reference, that’s what you’ll get — your scene, rendered in that visual style. The content of your references doesn’t carry over, only the look. It’s more useful for working from moodboards or pulling a specific aesthetic than trying to describe a style in words.

Krea 2 generates images at up to 1K resolution across seven aspect ratios, including 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:2, 2:3, and 4:5. Output files download in standard high-fidelity formats suitable for digital use, social media, and most production workflows. For print-scale or ultra-high-resolution finishing, the generated output can be processed through Artlist’s upscaling capability after generation.

No. Krea 2 is built with professional controls, but the generation itself is straightforward. Simple prompts produce well-composed outputs without requiring complex prompt engineering. The Creativity setting handles how much the model fills in on its own, so you can keep it tightly anchored to your prompt or let it interpret more freely. Reference images do more work than long descriptions, and Turbo mode makes it fast to experiment and see what lands.
